Forecast Scoreboard is an independent, neutral scoreboard of forecast accuracy for television stations, the National Weather Service, and weather models. Nobody pays for a place on the list. It is not affiliated with any television station, weather-model provider, or the National Weather Service.
The scoreboard covers US television markets. Each market is checked at one official airport climate site, usually the main airport for the market’s first-listed city. That single site is not every climate in the market. Collection of National Weather Service forecasts, the GFS model, and official observations started September 26, 2026, first in Kansas City and Oklahoma City and then nationwide. A station rank is published after 90 matched days and stays provisional until 180. TV station grading is coming soon. For now, the scoreboard grades the National Weather Service and the weather models.
People are not ranked. The boards are stations, models, and storm events, each scored on its own record.
